چکیده

Thin carbon films on Ni(111) and Ni(100) and the reactive and diffusive interactions between film and substrate are investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The carbon films are deposited from the vapor phase with the substrates at room temperature. After deposition the films contain mainly elemental carbon. Restricted only to the carbon-nickel interface carbidic carbon is observed. Carbon films of various thicknesses between 0.4 and 3.2 nm are investigated after thermal treatments up to 970 K. The C 1s signal intensities are used for chemical analysis, both in a qualitative and quantitative way. The initially formed carbide partially decomposes between 400 and 570 K. Additional carbide formation sets in again, combined with incipient carbon diffusion, at higher temperatures. Carbon diffusion into the bulk leads to a decreasing C 1s signal intensity until the carbon is almost completely lost into the bulk.

Aniline hydrogenolysis on nickel: effects of surface hydrogen and surface structure

Fluorescence yield near-edge spectroscopy (FYNES) above the carbon K edge and temperature programmed reaction spectroscopy (TPRS) have been used as the methods for characterizing the reactivity and structure of adsorbed aniline and aniline derived species on the Ni(100) and Ni(111) surfaces over an extended range of temperatures and hydrogen pressures. The Ni(100) surface shows appreciably high...

ساخت فیلمهای بس لایه‌ای Ni-Cu/Cu تهیه شده به روش الکتروانباشت و مطالعه نانوساختار آنها قبل و بعد از بازپخت

In this work electrodeposited Ni-Cu/Cu metallic multilayered films with different thicknesses of Ni and Cu were prepared on (100) polycrystalline Cu substrates. The nanostructure of the multilayers was studied using XRD. The existence of satellite peaks in the XRD patterns showed that the multilayered films have superlattice structures. The difference between the intensity of ML(200) and ML(11...

The chemistry of CH2I2 on MoAl alloy thin films formed on dehydroxylated alumina: insight into methylene insertion reactions.

The chemistry of diiodomethane is explored in ultrahigh vacuum on a MoAl alloy film grown on planar, dehydroxylated alumina by reaction with molybdenum hexacarbonyl. The majority of the diiodomethane forms methylene species below approximately 250 K, although a small proportion forms CH(2)I((ads)), which hydrogenates to form iodomethane. The majority ( approximately 90%) of the adsorbed methyle...
